In this position, Joyce has taken on the responsibility of overseeing all legal issues pertaining to the company and its subsidiaries. He will report to Daniel Straus, Aveta's principal stockholder and board member, as well as Dr. Richard Shinto, the company's president and CEO.
Joyce brings with him expertise in corporate and litigation, health sciences, legal affairs, public company reporting, business mergers and acquisitions, and public and finance transactions.
Prior to taking on employment with Aveta, Joyce spent six years with Alliance Health Services, a Southern California company that provides imaging and oncology services. He most recently served as the company's executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions but has also held the positions of general counsel, SVP of the Southeast region, and SVP of Business Development.
Joyce was the CEO of Medical Resources Inc., a New Jersey-based diagnostic imaging services provider, from 1998 until 2004. He has also spent more than six years with the Alliance Entertainment Corporation as its executive vice president and general counsel and nearly four years at Independent National Distributors Inc. as its chief operating officer.
From 1988 until 1992, Joyce was an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he represented clients in a range of corporate matters including public equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, and bankruptcy matters.
He holds a JD from the University of Chicago and a BS in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.
