Prior to joining Emeritus, Finkelstein served as a senior strategy advisor to both Intellectual Ventures and Global Evolution Fondsmaeglerselskab A/S, a Danish investment management firm.
From 2006-2010 he worked for Novellus Capital Management, LLC, where he functioned as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Wind-Down Advisor. During his tenure with the specialized asset management firm, he oversaw all areas of strategic direction and operations, assisted in establishing a trading platform, handled investor and counterparty relationships, and played a major role in the creation of the firm's proprietary structured financial products.
Finkelstein spent 20 years with the 50-lawyer law firm of Graham & Dunn PC in Seattle, where he held a number of roles including president-elect, member of the Board of Directors, member of the Shareholder Compensation Committee, chairman of the Hiring Committee, member of the Diversity Committee, and chairman of the Office of the Future Committee. During his time with the firm, he served corporate clients in a range of areas including mergers and acquisitions, complex financing strategies, and other corporate matters. He has also worked with clients in the areas of real estate, employment, intellectual property, securities, and tax issues.
He earned his JD from the University of Michigan Law School and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan.
